Environmental Electronic Textile Sensor
This greenhouse monitors biological collections as they undergo various methods and stages of incubation. Each experiment held in recycled glass and plastic vessels, breathes, grows and decays over the course of exhibition, collectively creating a microcosm and climate. Environmental sensors measure the ambient CO2, humidity and temperature, while the silk interface, designed to signal the ideal environmental conditions for fruiting mushrooms, translates this empirical data into color and light. This iteration was produced during electronic textile camp 2023 at Prairie Ronde in Vicksburg, Michigan.
